Senior

This group is for the most dedicated TSA swimmers age 13 or older. Swimmers in this group will have the intent of maintaining a 100% practice attendance. If the swimmer does not show the ability to commit to the intent of 100% attendance, movement out of the group will be required. This is at the discretion of the coach. Swimmers must have at least one USA Swimming "A" time (for their age group) in any event other than 50 Free. Swimmers in this group are devoting themselves to the sport of swimming, and all other extracurricular activities will not interfere with the expectations of this practice group. Other factors that are taken into consideration prior to the placement into the Senior group are:

• Commitment to the group,
• Motivation to succeed,
• Willingness to learn and improve,
• Knowledge of his/her personal best times,
• Knowledge of his/her goals,
• Proper use of pace clocks and other training aids,
• Dependability and responsibility for their swimming.[/list]

Swimmers in this group who are attending High School are expected to:

• Compete with (TSA) at championship meets.
• Boys - compete at the level 1 Championships  prior to leaving for their high school swim team.
• Girls - compete at the Division 1 or 2 Championships, or Sectionals or JR Nationals  prior to leaving for their high school swim team.  Coach Mike adds: Upon return from HS season, those that can no longer make the base intervals for the group ie 30 x 100 @ 1:20  Will not train with the group until this can be accomplished.

All Senior swimmers are expected to participate in swim meets that TSA has scheduled and be in team apparel during those meets. All swimmers will be required to have their own kickboard, pull buoy, hand paddles, fins, Snorkel, and water bottle.

Warning:  this kind of swimming is not for everyone, and is not for the faint of heart or those who are “not sure” they want to do it.  It should be understood that we have a place for every swimmer on TSA and a smaller percentage of the membership will say that “this is the group for me.”
