Gold

Ages:  9-13 years old

Swimmer has aor summer program advanced from TSA Silver Group or has had previous experience on another swim team.  Participation in swim meets and purchase of team suit for competitions is required. Swimmers in Gold group are encouraged to swim to a minimum of 4 out of 5 practices a week. Swimmer has shown the ability to listen and follow instructions at practice, as well as make the basic intervals used in the training group.

Training: 1.5 hours, 5 days per week

Yardage: 2,000 – 4,000 yards

Basic Goals: Introduction to learning race plans and goal setting;  swimmer develops a positive attitude about “distance”; swimmer tries “new” event; introduction to basic nutrition; greater time standard awareness; IM training; swimmer learns the benefits of hard work and commitment; swimmer learns to be challenged and pushes him/herself on a daily basis.

Personal Goals: Gives best effort; studies fast swimmers; pre-race routines; team pride and spirit; development of Coach; swimmer relationship and routine at meets; learn about past and present World Champions and Olympian swimmers; learn about USA National Team.

Required Equipment: Speedo fins; NIKE kickboard; Jr. Snorkel, water bottle; practice suit; practice goggles; team cap, team shirt. 

Optional Outfitting: Nike Team Sweats, Nike Team Backpack, Parka
