For
all practice groups, the primary coach may at his/her discretion
place a swimmer into a practice group based on what the coach
feels is in the best interest of the long-term development
of that swimmer (regardless of swimmer ability and/or age).
Senior 1
This group is for the most dedicated TSA swimmers age 13
or older. Swimmers in this group will maintain a 75% practise
attendance or better. Swimmers must have at least one USA
Swimming "A" time (for their age group) in any event
other than 50 Free. Swimmers in this group are devoting themselves
to the sport of swimming, and all other extracarricular activity
will not interfere with the expectations of this practise
group. Other factors that are taken into consideration prior
to the placement into the Senior 1 group are:
* motivation to succeed,
* willingness to learn and improve,
* knowledge of his/her personal best times,
* knowledge of his/her goals,
* proper use of pace clocks and other training aids,
* dependability and resposnibility for their swimming.
Regardless of ability, swimmers who do not maintain minimum
expectation or shows a lack of enthusiasm will be moved into
the Senior 2 group until they have demonstrated that they
will honor all of what the Senior 1 group is about.
Swimmers in this group who are attending High School are
expected to:
* Boys - compete at the level 1 Championships prior to
leaving for their high school swim team.
* Girls - compete at the Division 1 Championships prior
to leaving for their high school swim team.
All Senior 1 swimmers are expected to participate in swim
meets that TSA has scheduled and be in team apparel during
those meets. All swimmers will be required to have their own
kickboard, pull buoy, hand paddles, fins, and water bottle

Senior 2
This group is for those swimmers not yet ready to make the
commitment for Senior 1 group. Minimum age for this group
is 13.
Swimmers are strongly encouraged to maintain a 70% practise
attendance in order to take full advantage of all this group
has to offer! The Senior 2 group is not, nor will it be, considered
a bottom-end group for the older swimmers of the team. It
does allow for more flexibility than the Senior 1 group.
Swimmers in this group who are attending high school are encouraged
to:
* Boys - compete at Level 1 or 2 Champs before leaving
for their high school swim team
* Girls - compete at Division 1 or 2 Champs before leaving
for their high school swim team
All swimmers in this group are expected to participate in
swim meets that TSA has scheduled and be in team apparel.
All swimmers will be required to have their own kickboard,
pull buoy, hand paddles, fins, and water bottle. New swimmers
to this group will be instructed on what type of equipment
to buy and where to get it.
